SlimRay Home Lipo Laser — Is Vital Solutions legit?

I ordered this product a week ago, even with some skepticism, so due to the 60 day money back guarantee. However, a few days later I went to the site and was rather alarmed to see that it hadn’t shipped yet. I wanted to make sure I would have enough time to evaluate the product within the 60 days (due to it seeming too good to be true), and so I tried to contact the company. I called the number on their website and left several messages, as well as spent hours upon hours on hold, I used the chat feature on their website (which never worked) and I tried emailing them and only got automated responses promising responses later that never came. Eventually I used paypal to set up a dispute and the instant the dispute was sent my account was updated as refunded. My question is has anyone had dealings with this company? Is it legit? And if so, how do you contact them? I would like to try this product out, but am now wondering if this company actually exists, or if there is another way to order this product. The website is here: http://www.visol.com/en/
Incidentally, I want to add that I never asked for a refund, I think that it was an automated response. And also, even though my acount is listed as ‘refunded’ on their website, the money has not yet been refunded to me. I will update this if the status of this situation changes… I wouldn’t want to smear a company if this is simply a misunderstanding. I will admit though, that I am extremely frustrated with the situation as it stands now.
I did finally get in touch with someone at the company and my item will be shipped, but later than I was originally told. I still have some concerns, and am also not entirely sure the item I ordered will work as promised, but the 60 day money back guarantee allieviates those concerns somewhat. I would still like to hear from others who may have dealt with this company, as I had enormous trouble contacting them. In total, I probably spent about 10 hours on hold (during their business hours), sent about 7 emails, left two messages and tried their ‘live chat’ feature more times than I can actually remember, and it was only after I filed a disupte that someone contacted me. So, I still am somewhat suspicious about the company…

  1. i can’t speak as to whether or not the company is ‘legit’, but i can tell you that their claim regarding their SlimRay ‘laser liposuction’ product seems questionable. To me, the quality of the products and services provided by a company speaks volumes about the integrity of the company itself.

Although the technology of actual “laser-assisted liposuction” (such as Pro-Lipo, Smart-Lipo, and Cool-Lipo) is a real and relatively new procedure, it is still a form of cosmetic surgery, NOT an external process.

SlimRay is described as a “laser paddle that is passed over the skin”. This is not the way laser-assisted liposuction works. The actual process of laser-assisted liposuction uses an impressively slender tube to direct a laser-tipped fiber optic probe under the skin. Although this process actually does ‘melt’ the fat it comes in contact with, and is much less invasive than traditional liposuction, incisions are still required. It simply does not work by just passing a laser over the skin.

It is always possible that perhaps Vital Solutions has discovered a breakthrough technology, but i have yet to find a single reputable Plastic Surgery clinic or surgeon that offers a liposuction process like the one the SlimRay describes. In addition, if the SlimRay actually did somehow bypass the skin to directly melt fat inside the body, it would need to able to do so without damaging any of the surrounding tissues.

Finally, if we gave the SlimRay the benefit of a doubt and assumed this was a valid and effective process, there are still questions as to how healthy leaving large amounts of melted fat under the skin might be. Actual laser-assisted liposuction removes the majority of the destroyed fat cells, yet it has still received criticism since 1) melting the fat releases potentially harmful fatty acids, and 2) the safety of leaving even small amounts of the altered fat in the body is not fully known.

i have seen testimonies about the SlimRay product, but my personal belief is that most of the positive ones are based on one of three scenarios: 1) testimonies from customers who achieved results, but it was actually due to other lifestyle changes; 2) testimonies from customers who may be observing a placebo effect (they see what they want to see); or 3) testimonies planted by a net-savvy viral-marketing department or individual. However, please be advised that this paragraph regarding testimonies is based solely upon my personal opinion.

Part of me would absolutely love to see SlimRay to be proven as a legitimate, safe, and effective way to melt fat, but logic and research have not borne out these hopes as of yet. I genuinely wish you success in either securing a valid product, or else in receiving your money back into your own pocket. If you would like to see a couple of links with some general information on the laser-assisted liposuction process, i have provided them for you below. Good luck!

    UPDATE:

Here’s something for the other side of this discussion: I was able to find a news article on a very new non-invasive “laser-lipo” procedure that IS being offered by some cosmetic clinics, although there appears to be some skepticism as to whether or not it actually works. The procedure has been FDA approved (but only for safety, NOT for effectiveness). i have included the link to the article and news video as the third link on my source list. (The article also provides the name of a clinic that is supposed to offer the procedure, but so far that clinic’s website only features regular liposuction.)

i hope all this info is useful to anyone researching into this type of product. :)

  2. Hmmmm, as far as I understand, Slimray is a lipolaser system that is non-invasive… It isn’t a liposuction machine – as misasyn mentioned and then later corrected herself.

Lipolaser is already being practiced in clinics today and it does exactly what is described on the website you purchased Slimray from (http://visol.com/en/products/Slimray.html), which is that it agitates sleeping fat cells into releasing fatty stuff from the cell. The fats do not remain under the skin/in the body or whatever. Rather, it is “drained” the usual way unstored fat is drained – whether burned as energy or otherwise.

This is what I understand from reading about Slimray and the technology it uses.

As far as whether Vital Solutions in legit, within the yahoo community, it seems there are satisfied customers of visol, see this thread on Slimray: http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AmDqbLR7XeN2oHqUuA8b5TTpFQx.;_ylv=3?qid=20090708201304AAa1SQ3

I guess you will just have to call customer support again and make sure you’re trying to get them during their hours of operation. Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

  3. I ordered this product sometime ago and received it within 2 weeks. I have been using it ever since and there isn’t a drastic drop in my weight or anything. It isn’t a liposuction machine that instantly takes away the fat from your body I guess. But it does help… at least my jeans aren’t too tight now. I have actually just ordered another product from Vital Solutions and contacted customer service when my order status was still awaiting fulfillment… They informed me that they are experiencing a high volume of order and shipping will happen later this week. They offered me some discount on my next purchase. Try calling them again and good luck.

  4. I was also very interested in finding out if this company is for real… Which is how I got to this question. Seems like mixed messages but eventually satisfied customers. I haven’t ordered anything but called them up just to check that there are real people in this company and they answered within 5 minutes and even apologized for the wait time. I asked if they get a whole bunch of calls and not surprisingly they do. They are based somewhere in the west coast and serve a worldwide clientele which could be why our calls have a long wait time. I have also tried their live chat and the quickest response time is early in the morning Pacific Standard Time.
